Behavior Modification

The most troublesome problems in dogs are the various aggression behaviors and separation anxiety.
Behavior modification can successfully rehabilitate these dogs so you can enjoy your pet without worry.
Many aggressive behaviors like dog aggression and people aggression stem from fearfulness and anxiety. Your dog may have had a very bad experience in the past or wasn't socialized.
Some dogs are just naturally shy. These dogs are very uncomfortable with any new experience, dog or person. Spot feels threatened and reacts aggressively to make the "bad thing" go away. Which usually works, because who wants to approach a snarling dog?

These scaredy cats can be taught gently and patiently that they don't have to be afraid.
Another very common problem is separation anxiety. Getting into the garbage or eating the homework is normal. But you're coming home to a house that's been torn apart. Your neighbors are starting to complain about the constant barking and howling.  Fido is housebroken, but now poops on your bed whenever you're gone from the house.

This poor guy is just frantic with worry that you won't come home. Being home alone is a terrible thing
and chewing, barking and pooping help relieve the anxiety.

For Fido's well-being, he has to learn that being alone is OK and that he'll be fine if you're not there with him all the time.
Then there are the dogs who are
very protective of their owners. So protective that no one can approach you or sit next to you on the couch without Fifi threatening to bite. Is Fifi guarding you from danger or is she afraid someone will steal her possession (you!).

Fifi is confused. She's very comfortable with you, but doesn't perceive you as the one in charge. The natural pack mentality of a dog needs someone to be the leader. If you're not, then little Fifi is going to have to do the job.

That's an awfully big job for a dog in our world. Fifi is nervous all the time and would be far more content in the number two spot.
